About mickcgorman and stuff

This is me with my wonderful, long suffering and patient wife, Julia

Mick and Ju in New Zealand

This blog will appear disjointed and rambling at times but so is my life so it is a fair reflection.

Most of my time at the moment revolves around dogs, our Border Collie, Indy and our Golden Retriever cross, Hamish.Β On the odd occasion it revolves around Multiple Sclerosis and Epilepsy.

As Julia is American, I had theΒ opportunity to spend time living and working in Indianapolis, Indiana but now we live back in England.

Feel free to have a look around and get to know me a bit, comments would be most welcome as ideas from other people help us grow.

  1. Hi Mick!

I’d like to suggest that you update this page. The About page is often the first port of call for most bloggers.

  2. PS Just seen your ‘about,me’.

We have two Yorkies and we dote on them.

Thanks for following my blog Mick, and nice to meet another doggie person! I have only one dog now, she is a 13 year old Shih-Tzu called Poppy; she is in my blog from time to time as you may have noticed.
Going to have a look round your blog now but I notice that you live in the UK. I am originally from there, and live in Oz now, but still have many family connections in Scotland and England.

Nice to meet you, Barb. πŸ™‚
I always wanted to go to Oz but the closest I got was New Zealand. (Picture above)
I love Scotland and go often to my friends farm so that my Collie can see his doggie family.

  4. Hello πŸ™‚
I have nominated you for The Liebster Award, you can read all about it here http://barktime.wordpress.com/2013/06/09/the-liebster-award/– just my little way of saying that I think your blog is fab! xx

Your blog is wonderful and love your four-legged kids! πŸ™‚

  6. You’re a lovely couple, Mick. I couldn’t make up from the above and the unfortunately brief cruise through your place if you or your wife has MS &/or epilepsy. Either way wishing you both well. Where in England are you from? My dad and his family of millions are from Leeds. I’m an American born and raised but did live in England, Sussex, in the early 70s for a while. Love it there, the countryside, etc. And, as you most likely know we have dogs in common. My passion and greatest love (aside from hubby). They’re our children. I apologize for not spending more time here but unfortunately I have work to get back to. You did catch my fancy with your visit to my site and I wanted to come by, have a peek, and say hello. Paulette

    Hello Paulette
We live in Northamptonshire, the same county where Princess Di grew up.
It is me that has both MS and Epilepsy, but I think Julia SUFFERS more from them than I do as I am not a great patient when I feel bad. πŸ˜€

    • You live in a beautiful place. We have chronic illness in common although mine is getting better, Lyme disease, that didn’t seen the case the the 10+ years I was incapacitated. I had a professor with MS who had it in remission from nutrition for years and years. I don’t like to suggest things without being asked, it’s presumptive. I hope yours is under control and you’re living a good life. Dogs are a great comfort and healing support for us with bodily things, the sure show us the joy of living no matter what. As to our spouses, I know the feelings of putting ones partner through whatever, but love has no bounds and my hubby tells me he’d rather be with me if I’m bed ridden than anyone else alive, now that’s a bright light. Love finds it’s way to fulfillment and happiness despite the hands we’re dealt. I hope this doesn’t sound like platitude, it’s from my heart. Can’t help being a sop. It’s been nice chatting with you. Paulette

I love your site. I see you are acquainted with the “other worldly” nature of Border Collies ! Thanks for your visit and like. My blog is rather eclectic and not as focused as yours, but I hope you will return again soon and often. Peace!

Hello! Just a message to say I have nominated you for a Liebster award! You can read about it here:

Feel free to ignore this if you want to, you are under no pressure at all to answer the questions etc. πŸ˜€

Hi Mick, thanks for the like on my little Montana blog! Really like your dog blog… so glad I found it.

Mick, I don’t do this often but I think you should look at my post “We went to look at the whales” It is about two big beautiful white dogs. https://suchled.wordpress.com/2014/09/30/we-went-to-look-at-the-whales/ and it’s not about whales.

  14. mickcgorman says:

Not at all. I will pop back and look again. πŸ™‚

  15. Hello Mick. I’ve nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award (see post pasted below). I enjoy reading about your experiences with all the dogs you’ve helped along!

  16. suchled says:

Mick, Just posted a “postcard to Mick” on my blog. Interesting to everyone but you instantly sprung to my tiny little pink mind.

  17. I simply had to follow your blog because of your love for dogs! I have 2 border collies and they are my fur children as I choose not to have pink furless ones myself πŸ˜‰
Thank you for doing work that helps our furry friends. I wish you the best!
