A chocolate treat.

At last we have a foster baby. We discovered that a local family wanted to re-home their chocolate Labrador, Roxy, as they were struggling to find the time for her since having a baby. We had met Roxy many times in the park and both our boys like her so we offered to take her until we find her a home.

Roxy is adorable, well mannered, friendly, and very affectionate with the added bonus of liking cats. We have a couple of people in mind for Roxy, one of whom we are sure will want her. If our cunning plan fails we do have a large network of dog people amongst which will be a home for this lovely lump of chocolate. πŸ™‚

Roxy is about 7 years old and has had a few homes so far in her life, we want the next one to be her last.

It has proved to be quite difficult to get a picture of her face because she is prone to looking at her foster Mum more than my ugly moosh. πŸ™‚

The boys quickly taught Roxy that if she sits nicely after dinner she will get a dried tripe stick, it’s funny how quickly every foster dog has learned that. πŸ˜€

Update October 12th

Pepper is staying for a few days so we get even cuter pictures. πŸ™‚

About Mick C Gorman

Slightly damaged old bloke who is plodding on with more than a little help from a great wife. I have been married for 36 years and have 2 grown up children. I did the usual thing and replaced children with dogs when the nest became empty, best thing I ever did (apart from getting married of course). Life has taken a few interesting turns so far but this Epilepsy thing beats the lot! I love lots of things but in the past have never really stuck with them long enough to be good at them, I am trying harder to be better at a few things rather than okay at loads of things. There is still plenty of time. :-D

How sensible of the family to realise Roxy needed more attention. Good on them and good on you for making her future brighter. And I have to say I wouldn’t sit still for a dried tripe stick!

Awww. Glad you were able to take her in until you find her a furever home. I hate that people get in a situation where they can no longer care for an animal that has become part of their family. It must be a very hard decision to make, but, if they do it for the good of the animal, bless them!

    • I just got the whole story of Roxy. The family got her from Facebook to save her ending up as a bait dog. At the time they got her they had a 5 year old autistic daughter but could cope but when the baby came it was too much for them. I think they have done the sensible thing.

    • Thank you. We have 4 pooches at the moment, Pepper arrived again last night to stay for a few days while his person has chemo. There is barely any room for me in our little house. πŸ˜†

Your such a kind person looking after these beautiful dogs. We have two dogs , one is a rescue dog and the other one is from the SPCA, she was mistreated too. It is a nice feeling giving them good homes that they deserve. Well done to you caring about them and being such a thoughtful person.
