Food Stamps Don’t Taste Like Anything

Not only is epilepsy limiting in what you can do it is very limiting in what people will give you the chance to do! I find a lot of people are too ready to just write me off as useless! I hope things improve for us all.

I am apart of the poor, the downtrodden, the huddled masses. I am an able bodied, mostly healthy, middle aged guy, with a family, and a disease. Which has kept me from working most jobs I’ve ever had or known how to do. Manual labor kind of jobs, working hard to support my family things.
But I can’t do those jobs anymore. My epilepsy keeps me from being on ladders, out in the heat, painting or construction. Granted I am a very intelligent man, but have little training in other areas of viable income sources. I am also a writer, but as we all know that doesn’t pay the bills unless you pull Harry Potter out of your ass.
My family is suffering. We have had to make tremendous changes and sacrifices because of my brain constantly trying to lock up on me. We have gone without more times than…

Slightly damaged old bloke who is plodding on with more than a little help from a great wife. I have been married for 35 years and have 2 grown up children. I did the usual thing and replaced children with dogs when the nest became empty, best thing I ever did (apart from getting married of course). Life has taken a few interesting turns so far but this Epilepsy thing beats the lot! I love lots of things but in the past have never really stuck with them long enough to be good at them, I am trying harder to be better at a few things rather than okay at loads of things. There is still plenty of time. :-D
