Retriever X Rescue

There is another dog rescue in England called “Black Retriever X Rescue” of which I am very fond. It is run by Jemima Harrison who made the channel 4 documentary on dog breeders, “Pedigree dogs exposed”.
They bring mostly Retriever crosses and other black dogs from Ireland to England for re-homing, there are some very notable exceptions though. 🙂
Breed: red setter
Size: medium
Age: 3-4
A beautiful boy who landed in Dunboyne Pound a month ago and was never reclaimed. He is a small setter, possibly with a smudge of something else in there. Vince is great with other dogs, extremely affectionate and he is unusually calm and settled for the breed (although we have not tried him off-lead yet).  He arrived with us this week and is in rather poor condition at the moment so will be with us for a couple of weeks or so before we decide on his future. Vinnie is being fostered in Feltham in Middlesex where he is getting on very well with a male lab x. He is vaccinated and wormed and will be neutered when he’s put on a bit of weight.

About Mick C Gorman

Slightly damaged old bloke who is plodding on with more than a little help from a great wife. I have been married for 36 years and have 2 grown up children. I did the usual thing and replaced children with dogs when the nest became empty, best thing I ever did (apart from getting married of course). Life has taken a few interesting turns so far but this Epilepsy thing beats the lot! I love lots of things but in the past have never really stuck with them long enough to be good at them, I am trying harder to be better at a few things rather than okay at loads of things. There is still plenty of time. :-D
